As a Chief Vitreoretina Surgeon and Uvea Specialist at Drishti Eye Institute, he had the privilege of leading a team of dedicated professionals while serving as the Director. His expertise lies in a wide range of Vitreoretinal procedures, including Micro-incision Vitreous Surgery, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-related Macular Degeneration, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Panuveitis, and Posterior Segment Imaging.
He completed his MS Ophthalmology at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, and further expanded his knowledge through a VR Fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. Additionally, he had the opportunity to pursue a Research and Clinical Retina Fellowship at the esteemed University of California, Irvine, where he conducted groundbreaking research on retinal cells in tissue culture.
Throughout his career, he has actively contributed to the ophthalmological community through various leadership positions and academic achievements. As the Chairman of the Scientific Committee at Uttarakhand State Ophthalmological Society (UKSOS), he has spearheaded initiatives to promote scientific research and knowledge sharing among peers. His past roles as an Ex Member of the Governing Council and Joint Treasurer at the Vitreoretinal Society of India (VRSI), as well as Organizing Secretary for key conferences, have further honed his organizational and collaborative skills.
He take great pride in his numerous publications, including 34 research papers and 5 book chapters, which have contributed to the advancement of Vitreoretinal Surgery. In recognition of his dedication and accomplishments, he has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Bernadotte Foundation for Children's Eyecare Travel Grant and the Dr. M C Luthra Gold Medal for Best Free Paper at UTTARAEYECON.
His commitment to professional growth and staying at the forefront of advancements in his field is evident through his active memberships in esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), European VitreoRetinal Society (EVRS), All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), Vitreo-Retinal Society of India (VRSI), and Uveitis Society (India) (USI).
He regularly trains fellows in Vitreoretinal Surgery, Uveitis. Additionally he has been actively involved in training Indian and International Ophthalmologists. His commitment to education and sharing knowledge has allowed him to make a significant impact on the professional growth of others in the medical field.
He played a pivotal role at Dishti Foundation. He had the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of numerous patients by providing them with the right treatment free of cost. Witnessing the positive impact on the lives of these individuals was truly rewarding, and it reinforced my passion for medicine and patient care.
